Lake Toba


Lake Toba is located in North Sumatra, Indonesia. Lake Toba is a volcanic lake with a length of 100 kilometers and 30 kilometers wide, and the depth of about 505 meters. This lake is the largest lake in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

Toba lake itself is a volcanic lake that occurs when there is a volcanic eruption at 69000-77000 years ago, is also expected to be one the largest volcanic explosions in the world.
After the blast, creating kaledra (hollows in the ground after the volcanic eruption) which is then filled with water and we know now as Lake Toba. Amid the Lake Toba there is also a small island which is also called the island samosir.

Located 906 above sea level, this place is a haven for many interesting plants.

When you visit Lake Toba, you might be surprised and think that the lake is more like an ocean than a lake. In this area, surrounded hills, so the atmosphere is comfortable around the lake, the air is cool and fresh. The view there is very beautiful and charming. Especially in the afternoon at the lake scenery will be beautiful because visitors can enjoy the beauty of the lake while watching the sunset.

On the island of Samosir we can see the traditional houses of the kings of ancient Batak also tombs of the kings in the Tomok. Here too there are many souvenir shops that we can visit to buy a souvenir.
