Culture China

Chinese (Hokkien dialect word [], which means Central Nation: in Mandarin Pinyin spelling, the word is pronounced "Zhonghua") is another name for the people of the tribe or race Chinese in Indonesia. This word in the Indonesian language is often used to replace the word "China" which now has a negative connotation because it is often used in a condescending tone. [1]

This word can also refer to people of Chinese descent who live outside the People's Republic of China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

Discourse Chinese (Zhonghua or laddie hwa) at least been started since 1880, which is the desire of the people in China to be free from dynastic rule and establish a more democratic country and strong.
The word was first widely introduced by Dr.. Sun Yat-sen, who is the father of the Chinese Revolution to establish the Republic of China (华民国, Zhonghua Minguo) in 1911, after the overthrow of the Qing Dynasty. The victory of the Chinese Revolution is to inspire the struggle and national revival in Indonesia. Mao Zedong also continue to use the word Zhonghua People's Republic of China (华人民共和国, Zhonghua Renmin Gongheguo) which was proclaimed in 1949.

Talks on Chinese in Indonesia usually includes constellation Chinese people in politics, social and culture in Indonesia. Chinese culture is one of forming an integral and inseparable part of the national culture of Indonesia today. Chinese culture in Indonesia despite the ancestral cultural roots, but it has been very localized and undergo a process of assimilation with other local cultures.

Due to pressure the regime, many of the Chinese people had stripped his real name and use local names, though secretly they wear to events among them. But along with the Reformation, without fear they re-use their Chinese names, although many are reluctant to use it again.
